A time of Remembrance

Most people have bad memories associated with today. They can probably recall where they were when finding out about the tragedies. We were scheduled to take a flight out of RDU to Dallas that afternoon. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to make the flight. Thank goodness our trip was unnecessary.

However, today is also a good day of remembrance for our family. We welcomed our last child into the world on Sunday evening, September 11, 1994. That's right, our baby is now fourteen years old. Time really does fly by. We celebrated his birthday a little last night by taking him out to eat at a restaurant of his choice. Tonight we will have the birthday cake and ice cream that he wanted. We finally succumbed and got him a cell phone with more rules attached to it than his years on earth.

Our youngest is now taller than me. His voice has already changed (he sings bass in the school choir) and he is wearing clothes from the men's department. He is a very affectionate person with kindness over-flowing. He has brought our family lots of joy and happiness. I could go on, but I don't want to embarrass him (if he actually reads this).

For me, today bring back memories of walking, walking, and more walking to bring on the contractions, going into the hospital, and you know the rest of the story.
